Does it feel more gratifying?

do you think it is more gratifying to be chosen as best answer by the asker or by the populous. To me it is definitely the asker but I will admit that some times I write answers directly opposing the asker to influence other people rather than the person who asks the question. This of course only applies to theoretical or philosophical questions and not definitive single answer questions.
